"Toh Soon Cafe @ Campbell Street"

We were on food-hunting mode the days before the Raya holidays, and stumbled upon Toh Soon Cafe, tucked between a narrow lane at Campbell Street, immediately after turning in from Penang Street.

Kopi and Teh. This is definitely the best Kopi I've tasted in the whole of Penang. One sip is enough to send me to wonderland! Haha... The coffee taste is a very distinct, and milk is added just in the right amount and mixed well. Must try!!! And one cup is only 70 cents or so.

Wife ordered tea initially, but then after tasting the superb Kopi, she ordered a cup of Kopi-O. Also superb!

Another specialty is the toasted bread. Not just any toast bread, but toasted over charcoal! The outer part is just nicely crispy, not overdone, and inside it's soft and fluffy, mixed with kaya and butter... really superb!

There's a steamed version as well, but we prefer the toasted one...

And breakfast here is not complete without the half-boiled egg. Nice~~

Posing with the legendary signboard. There's even a picture of Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, in the exact same position, framed up in the shop :D

The place is always crowded and at times feels like a tourist destination, with people whipping out their cameras and DSLRs!

The "stove" where they toast the bread. Of course, since it is located in an alley, hygiene is questionable! We've since been coming to this place religiously every week, sometimes in the afternoon to avoid the crowd. Often, we take-away a pack of either O-Peng or Kopi Peng; cool drink on a hot day-- Highly recommended!!
