"Wedding stories"

This time I went back to Melaka to settle a lot of stuff for the wedding on Dec 26. Time is really running short as there's about 3 months to go and not sure when would be the next time I go back. As expected, money was free-flowing out like nobody's business (except mine? :P ) when it comes to weddings.

Here are some stuff for the Guo Da Li (performing rites): a gold bracelet for Gf.

And this gold ring would be her mom's gift to me during the drink tea ceremony

IMG_7089

These days modern abit, we choose ourselves one :P I don't really like wearing rings but I wanted to select a design which is simple and matches with my engagement ring's bamboo design.

We also bought a bed and cupboard set for my room (although I hardly go back!) for the wayang-wayang on the wedding day~~ :P Damn, these things all add up to a huge amount, so much so that I'm actually applying for a credit card, despite saying never again because I just can't be carrying so much money around. For the record, I cancelled my card few years ago after mounting debts. Oh no, here we go again!

"Selamat Hari Raya"

Gf will be coming up tomorrow to see the arrangement of the photo album. Then either Monday or Tuesday will be going back to Melaka. This time going back to settle more wedding stuff. Lemahhhh~~~ :-S Will be back in Penang on Monday 28/9. Back to work on 29/9. I can forsee the ultimate BLUE feeling then :D

On another note, a close fren will be leaving Modo soon :( Lemah dy. Lost another buddy. Although this year still has 3 months to go, I already label it as a terrible. Work sucks. The only nice thing is that the project has many frens from my old team, which sort of makes things a bit better. But the project is close to finishing and they will go back to their teams.. omg.. canot imagine. Will feel really empty. That's another problem. Within the last year, so many buddies have left and I find myself struggling to find people who *click* with me.

Yesterday the boss came over and ask, "What would you guys like to do next year?" At that moment, all I thought was... err, do I still wanna stay here?? :P I think next year would be a good time to freshen things up. This year is kinda stuck; once the wedding thing is out of the way, probably can look forward to change things about. Sometimes you get caught in the web of complacency. Comfort zone mar. Just do the work and get the pay then buy more toys. But once things get to this stage, I believe you have to shake yourself out of the slumber and get a new perspective.

Ok guys, enough complaining from me. Wishing everyone Selamat Hari Raya. Have a safe trip if you are travelling and enjoy the holidays!!

"Macross Frontier: 1/60 VF-25S Armored Messiah Ozma Custom (Part 3)!"

Taking off the armored parts is a tedious task. Some parts just refuse to come off :-S

Fighter:

DSC08916

Unique to Ozma is this fierce Bison-skull tattoo on his back!

Gerwalk:

Without the armored parts, Gerwalk is far more flexible and less frustrating, though of coz, less fearsome too.

Battroid:

And when firepower doesn't work against the enemy, there's always the Knife :D

A size comparison with Alto's VF-25F Armored 1/100 scale:

DSC08832

The 1/100's armor is not removable, so it is more manageable compared to 1/60 in this aspect. The 1/60's huge armor adds a lot of weight to an already heavy fighter, so it becomes a bit unwieldy to handle. But still, I really like it and feel it's worth the money spent. Anyway, the longer u look at it, RM735.90 becomes RM73.59 ;)

Next: Buy Alto and Luca?? :P:P Hahaha.... I can imagine Gf saying, "Save money for the wedding la!!"

"Macross Frontier: 1/60 VF-25S Armored Messiah Ozma Custom (Part 2)!"

Fighter mode!

DSC08855

which is nothing short of stunning... with that much of armor and firepower, the Armored Messiah is like a one-man fighting machine!

opening cockpit, Ozma not removable though...

And now for Gerwalk

DSC08872

You can sense there's something not right when the instructions ask u to use some additional parts to support the wings. For me, the whole mode just doesn't work. As you try to get the legs to align, bits and pieces of armor keep falling off. The wing armor also blocks the hand from moving. And the legs... no way they are gonna move anywhere too.

Fortunately, the Armored Messiah is mostly seen in fighter mode and battroid. :D

Next: without the armor

"Macross Frontier: 1/60 VF-25S Armored Messiah Ozma Custom (Part 1)!"

At long last...

DSC08788

Bandai's 1/60 scale VF-25S Armored Messiah Ozma Custom! This belongs to Skull Leader Captain Ozma Lee.

DSC08785

Look at the size of the box, compared to the AA battery and the VF-25G Messiah Michael Custom!

DSC08789

And of coz it costs a bomb too :-S

Battroid mode:

The striking yellow really brings this piece to life. And check out his wicked looking head with 4 antennas~~

DSC08806

The armored compartments carry a tonne of missiles~~

VF-25S posing with VF-25G. Damn... now I feel like getting the VF-25F Alto and RVF-25 Luca to complete Skull squadron :-P

The Armored Messiah fixes almost all the problems faced by the VF-25G. While posing them for the group shot, this happened alot:

DSC08820

Basically the connector for the hip to the body is not strong enough to handle the added weight of the Super Parts. And while you are adjusting it, the hip armor, which has very little grip, keeps falling off. Using the stand helps to reduce the frustration.

In Ozma's case, both problems are fixed and every joint is tight and well-fitting. The Armored parts are much heavier than the Super parts, but I hardly had any problem posing it. However, it introduces new problems (sigh) which will be shown later...

Next: Fighter mode, Gerwalk mode and Armor-less Ozma

"Hiking..."

Went hiking at Bkt Jambul this morning. Along one of the paths, saw a fallen tree which was fortunately stopped by other trees. Could've easily turned nasty!

Image0020

It was already quite late in the morning, around 11AM, not many people there. In fact, when I reached the peak, I was the only one. Ok, besides the dog there :P

"Xuan Xin Restaurant @ Gurney Plaza"

The other day, after photo selection we went to Gurney Plaza. There was a restaurant called Xuan Xin beside Sakae Sushi in the new wing where we usually see a long queue. But we were early that day around 6.30PM, so decided to try it! Unfortunately, I didn't bring my camera along, so these pics were taken by the Nokia 2330's VGA camera...

Image0009
Image0010

Device to Call (waiter), Bill or Water (refill).

The menu isn't exactly the most user-friendly we've seen. The pictures shown were not the Chef's recommendations, which was kinda weird. Easier way is to ask the waiter to recommend popular dishes ;)

Image0012

The dishes all came after less than 10 minutes wait, very efficient. For vege, we had this: Spinach with 2 kinds of egg in superior stock. There's century egg and salted egg with normal egg, in a very light ("ching") soup.. hard to describe, but this is very highly recommended!!

Image0013

Next up is tofu with eggplant cooked in oyster sauce. A bit too heavy on the sauce for my liking, better eat together with the rice to neutralize it a bit!

Image0016

Finally is the pork cooked in sweet sour sauce. I can't recall the names of these dishes as I misplaced the receipt. This is really good, the meat is juicy and tender and the size of it, can easily serve 3 person.

Image0017

A small bowl of rice, but we didn't add more because the servings were pretty huge.

The price? Came out to about RM50++; pretty expensive stuff! But I think the food is nice and interesting enough that we'll come back again :)
