No, I'm not in Plantation, but finally found the time to finish off the untold stories from the last few weeks I was there. Those were very stressful weeks because Gf just arrived, had to plan for where to bring her, need to work some more, then need to plan for the Epic Adventure... need to shop... stress, stress.. but anyways...
On one of the weekends, we (together with Fren2, BL, Raymond) drove a 4 hour journey to Orlando, the most popular tourist destination in Florida. Our first day was to: Universal Orlando! Universal has 2 theme parks: Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Go get the 2 park ticket, it costs about USD80 per person. Yeah, very expensive, but you don't come here everyday rite? ;) Actually this was my second time here, first time was in 2006 with Mok.
The entrance, and the icons of Universal: the rotating globe and
the Arch. We bought our tickets and split up. BL, Raymond and Fren2 opt not to go for the Islands of Adventure, so we planned to meet up here after we were done.
Universal Studios, is basically that: Movies!
There's a recreation of Hollywood and Beverly Hills. Snap snap snap. And Woodpecker!
The park is divided into several themes, basically a U-shape, with landscapes taken from famous places, movie settings, and they include rides, like this one: ET!
Queued up for nearly 1/2 hour to get to ride it... :-S It's the peak of summer, and the place was packed with humans...
Walk around, snap snap snap..
A clear and very beautiful day.
But way to hot! Time to cool down:
Aahh...
Jaws!
Lunch.... shared! Food sold inside is extremely expensive. So just share2.. anyway also not too hungry.
More movie settings~~!
The car from "Back to the Future"!
Today was extra packed because Brendan Fraser was making an appearance here to promote the new Mummy movie! Man, can hardly breathe... No, not crazy about Brendan, but can barely move with the insane number of people crowding to see him. Sorry la... not really interested :P But this also meant that I missed out on siting the Mummy ride for the 2nd time!! :-S
Ah, a familiar sign..
We left Universal Studios, to continue to Islands of Adventure...
World's Biggest Hard Rock Cafe. And this NBA thingy...
Islands of Aventure is mainly a roller coaster place...
The moment you enter, the awesome sight of the HULK welcomes you. If you are a roller-coaster fan, this is the one to enjoy. Me, I almost terkencing the last time I sit this... so, no way I'm going up again :D And Gf also not a roller coaster fan...
Islands is different than Studios; here's there's more emphasis on comics, cartoon so you get to see these bright colorful buildings!

Dr Doom ride and Spidey...
At this point, it started to rain cats and dogs. Just like Malaysia eh.. Blazing hot in the afternoon, then pouring in the evening! Found some place to hide from the rain. When it was less heavy, went to the next place: which is my favourite:
The Ruins of Poseidon!
There's a show inside where actors recreate a realistic adventure: usually they play the part in the movie, with you following around, then special effects, boom boom, wow wow... very professional.
From here, can catch another angle of the monstrous Hulk :-S
More cartoon-land.... and finally: JURASSIC PARK!
This is one cool place and it's got one damn cool ride:
Leo: "Can't be just taking pics.. lets go for this ride."
Gf: "Scary one or not?"
Leo: "No la, just sit in a boat and see dinosaurs"
Gf: "Sure?"
Leo :"Yaya sure, lets no. Raining, no queue"
Of coz you can tell I wasn't telling the whole truth ;) It started off with sitting on a boat, looking at dinosaurs, then an accident happens, then dinosaurs on the loose... velociraptors.. ooo... ahhh....
then the last dino....
T-REX! T-Rex opens his mouth and roars, the boat heads towards him...
then it bends down for a FREEFALL 5 STOREYS HIGH!!
Yeaaaa a a a a r r g g h .......
Of coz kena scold la... but hey, it was fun :D
Walk around, already night time... we're actually fortunate becoz it's summer: 8.30PM still bright.
We went back to meet the rest of the guys, but they weren't there. Turns out they decided to leave early and go back home... Oh well, we drove to our hotel in Orlando and rest. The next day, we were going to .....
Disney! :D
