"KK Expedition Day 3 ~ Island Hopping!"

Ok! Day 3 of the KK trip brings us to Tunku Abdul Rahman (Marine) Park, where there are many islands for us to hop around! Of note are 3 must-go islands, Pulau Sapi, Manukan and Mamuntik. To save cost, we decided to walk to the jetty from Velvet Lodge. It's a brisk walk in the blazing sun, but it allows us to see KK city up close and personal ;)

And finally, Jesselton Point welcomes us..

Get on board...

Go!

We got an overdose of BLUE along the way to Pulau Sapi.... everywhere you look, the sea is BLUE....... and it gets BLUE-R the further we got from the jetty! Absolutely wonderful!

1) Pulau Sapi.... This, according to the travel blogs, is a MUST-GO as it is touted as *the* beach with crystal clear water and powdery beach... whoa.. :D

Well, the description is a bit off.... the sand is fine, yes, but the water is a tad off from 'crystal clear'! But it's still pretty good. We spent about 2 hours on each island. Here, we had our packed lunch (thanks to Mesius for the tip: food and water bought on the island is very pricey!) and went snorkeling. It feels weird to have the fishes swimming around you coz it feels like they are biting you! Scary.......!

2) Pulau Manukan is our next destination. The boat operator happens to be.....

Haha... take turns posing for pic more like it!:P But it's pretty cool of the guy to let us handle the boat... He even ask if we wanted to try parking aka dock the boat at the jetty -_-''

Arrive at the jetty... you can see these nice little fishes swimming around the stands!

Oh, but what are we doing back on the boat?

Para-sailing!!!

DSC04363

I dunno how I got convinced to do this!

DSC04373
Higher!

Omg... para-sailing is where the boat pulls you with a shute (as in the pic). The thing is, there's actually no 'seat' for us! it's just a bar! We reached a massive height of about 20++ storeys high above sea water... and remain floating there for a

long.

time.....

After awhile, we got the hang of it and started to let go of the handle bar... The boat then slows, allowing us to droop into the sea water... ahh...refreshing.. and good to know that we're back on 'land'.... :P
DSC04384

... yeah, rite!

The boat then speeds like nobody's business and swing us waaaaaaay higher than ever in a split second!!! ARRRRRrrr r r r r r r r ..........................

DSC04381

Whoa, for RM150 for 15 minutes in the air, that's gotta be one the MOST memorable experience EVER! The view when you are so high up with NOTHING below you is mind-blowing! Hugely recommended!! After that ride, our hands were all hurting from gripping the handle so hard! Haha.....

On the other hand, our other buddies went for Jet ski instead!

Yeah, so much to try and so little money! :P

3) Pulau Mamuntik is the last of the island hopping adventure...

DSC04431
The routine is pretty much the same. However, Mamuntik is noticably much dirtier than the previous 2 islands. You can find rubbish strewn all over the place... eew...

The gang decided to do some swimming and snorkelling to cap of the day.............

And Pang's sellout pic...

FoongLin wasn't involved much in the water activites, but still looks darn happy, dun u think? :)

Ok, adventure over... took the boat back to Jesselton Point and walk back to the lodge... Passed by a few landmarks, grab some food, went to restock our supplies...

Back.... Yeah, doesn't look like much, eh... Well, it's only RM30 per night!:P

We came back rather early, so there was still time to hang out in KK city at night...DSC04468
Booze and chatting thru the nite...................

Next: Poring Hot Spring!
