"Stuff yourself silly!"

Time for a food post! Mom wanted to discuss with Gf's mom on the wedding details so we went out for dinner together. I thought since we're going to be discussing about the wedding, why not go over to the restaurant itself (Good New World @ Melaka Raya) where the event will be held, then can clarify any questions we have. Sis celebrated mom's birthday there a few weeks earlier and said the food and service was pretty good. Ok, while they are busy discussing, lets see what we have...

'Foo yung' egg, stuffed with content!

IMG_7047
Vege

IMG_7049
Pork, dun remember the name, but really good~~

IMG_7051
Hotplate tofu

IMG_7052
and their trademark dish, the curry chicken pie. The chicken itself is just so-so, but the pastry+curry is awesome!

Price was quite affordable. I think the bill came up to RM70+ for 6 person and the service was fast; a rare thing for Melaka restaurants.

Finally we selected the dishes to be served for the wedding dinner and the number of tables. It's a pretty small place, and can fit 30++ tables. We also unanimously decided no to Karaoke! Alcohol fans can rejoice because there will be beer, red wine and Martell too.... Sigg~~ :P

More food: At Jalan Tengkera, turn in at the lane beside the mosque is a nyonya food stall

Apom~~~ super yummy

IMG_7069
Tea, coffee. If you're in Melaka, u just have to try the coffee. It's thick and bitter~~

IMG_7071
nyonya laksa slurrrppp......

IMG_7072
nasi lemak. Wow all coconut based food :-S

IMG_7075
Here's a pic of the stall. Nice and relaxing place to have breakfast :)

After heavy brakfast, usually we'll skip lunch and go for tea. This place should be familiar to those staying around Melaka town; it's the stall setup at the foot of Bkt China selling 'tong sui' (dessert).

IMG_7076
They also have 'economy' noodles

IMG_7079
and taukua/taukee, fishball

IMG_7078
kacang porridge

IMG_7077
green kacang :P

Also, at Jln Semabok market, there's this nice Hee Kiau Mee (noodle with fishball, char siew and a dose of chilli)

Not exactly the most hygenic place, but a nice and simple dish to keep you going till dinner ;)

Sometimes dinner can be just Mee Hun Kueh, which is something like Pan Mee, but with more toppings

soup version

dry version

Or u can even have mee suah.. all tastes great :D

Supper. Gf say wana try satay celup at Capitol satay, but always long queue even on weekdays... at 12 midnite :-S Forget it la, just go to the one at Ong Kim Wee, less headache!

can order a plate of bread & cucumber to dip in as well. Satay celup is probably the most controversial food Melaka has to offer. Does it really taste nice? Can you eat it without thinking of the origins of the sauce?? Hehe..

Oh yeah, another breakfast stuff.. duck noodles

IMG_7083
There's always that red chilli sauce. Goes great with alot of food~~

Also to celebrate Bro's belated birthday, Sis bought this superb Chocolate cheesecake from Secret recipe.

Only problem was that have to spend the next few days finishing it!
