"Life in Plantation... Nasa shuttle launch!"

Space shuttle carries Japanese lab into orbit

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (Reuters) - Space shuttle Discovery blasted off a seaside launch pad at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Saturday to deliver Japan's huge new research laboratory to the International Space Station.

I was there! :D

Together with Fren2 and Yau, the 3 of us drove to Cape Canaveral, 200 over miles from Point A to Point B, in a 3+ hour journey under the hot blazing sun, to view the launch!

The closest we got (without paying for tickets which were sold out anyway) was at Port Canaveral Jetty Park. We waited under the hot sun for 3 hours and finally....

(pardon my silly comments.. :P)

.... it's over in 2 minutes! :D

Hahhaha... Then drive thru a massive jam to reach home at 10pm :D

But it was a great experience, especially when the shuttle breaks the sound barrier, a thundering boom could be heard (that's when everyone cheered halfway into the video clip)! The vibrations can be felt even from our location :D

Haha.. that's the limit for the camera's video zoom. My eyes can only see the flames and smoke. Even the paid ticket is 6 miles away from the shuttle :-S
