"YF-19 Fold Booster & Fast Packs (II)

Turns out LR44 are batteries for watches, each one cost RM8. The YF-19's Fold booster needs 3 of them to operate! This sure is getting costlier...

With all the extras loaded, YF-19 becomes a pretty impressive looking piece!

Gerwalk:




The Fold booster is only able to mount in Fighter mode though. The Fast packs consist of the leg armor which attaches by magnet and the fuel pack which hooks at the shoulder. In my case, they don't really fit well. Getting them all to align is Fighter mode is probably the most annoying part...

"Claymore!"

Eric introduced this awesome anime called Claymore:

In a world where humans coexist with sentient vampiric monsters that feed on human innards called Yoma, an organization has created an order of dhampir-like, half-human, half-yoma warriors to protect humans from the yoma, for a large fee. The people of this world have dubbed these warriors "Claymores" based on their swords. They are also refered to as "Silver Eyed Witches", based on their appearance and seemingly cold nature toward others.

A Claymore known as Clare saves a small town by killing all the Yoma living there, and meets Raki, a boy who's parents were killed by the Yoma. Out of gratitude, Raki ends up following Clare from town to town during her Yoma-killing jobs. The story becomes a tale of revenge, as Clare seeks to confront someone from her past. (from Wikipedia)

"Macross Plus: Yamato 1/60 YF-19 with Fold Booster & Fast Pack!"

Here comes Yamato's 1/60 scale YF-19 with Fold Booster & Fast Pack! Saw it at the Queensbay shop selling for RM790. At first wanted to wait for sales, but then... gosh I've been waiting like forever to get a YF-19, and this one even comes with the Fold booster... what the heck, just grab it!



Fighter mode:






The YF-19 has inverted wings, very different compared to conventional fighters...



It can be a two-seater to hold Isamu and his co-pilot, although it's a pretty tight squeeze.

Gerwalk:



Transformation is simple. The only problem is that the chest portion doesn't lock into place. So if you do a flip, everythings comes apart :S

Battroid mode:



YF-19 is rather on the thin side.



... but he has this handsome face :)



And now together with his rival, the YF-21!



Just love how their colors blend with one another.



And FINALLY, the trinity of fighters from Macross Plus: VF-11B, YF-19 and YF-21~~ both YF-19 and YF-21 is at least a head taller than VF-11B.

Wait, where's the Fold booster?? Erm... unfortunately the Fold booster requires 3 LR44 batteries which were not included (RM790 and they can't even include it). It has some LED features which light up and dance to simulate the fold process. Once I know what a LR44 battery looks like, will update another post ;)

"Doris Farewell"

Last Friday was Doris' last day; finally graduated from Modo-land :D



The first farewell was the organized by the department. This is the 2nd one at TGIF with frens~~

"Yamato gets Macross 7 license!"

Yamato now has Macross 7 license for sure! Previously only Bandai has it. The first sign was when they released Gamlin's VF-22S from Macross 7:Dynamite last month.



And now they officially announce VF-22S Max and Milia from Macross 7 series! Hurray!

Also codenamed Blue Gazer, I fell in love with this model the first time I saw it~~

The VF-22S is the advancement of the YF-21 prototype. The diff is in the cockpit design and the head in battroid mode. I think the VF-22S has a far cooler 'face' than YF-21. Retail price is RM780. Shit.

But then we can now hope for the ultimate valkyrie from Macross 7:

"Fire!"

Was about to go to work on Monday morning when I heard people keep honking continously. Curious, went to the balcony to see....



One of the units in the opposite flat was on fire! People were gathering round (kepoh la.. like me!); even the construction workers paused and looked. Within minutes, the smoke got bigger.

And within minutes, the fire engines arrived and sent their water spray to douse the fire. Good job! Too bad for the owner and the neighbours though; definitely gonna have a sleepless night...
