Next up is Macross Plus, yes, I'm on a marathon to finish all the Macross series released! Macross Plus is a 4 episode series (they also have a movie edition) which tells about a competition to determine the successor to the VF-11B.
The candidates are the YF-19
against the YF-21
My favourite!
In short, I love it! The tone of the series is rather serious and dark. But the highlight of it are these 2 outstanding fighters.
Guess what, I *almost* bought the YF-21 last week :D Only the very hefty price tag of RM728 made me stop :-S
well, unless Mr Shopowner give more discount.. haha...

"Macross 7's VF fighters!"
Finished watching Macross 7. It's a pretty average series, like those in the 90's, where it's always repetitive, every week bad guys come and good guys chase away bads guy kind of story. What's interesting are the characters and basically their life. It's a weird in a silly way, but there's something you'd miss after finishing the series.
Anyway, let me show you some of the Valkyrie's which appear in Macross 7
This is the VF-19 Fire Valkyrie, owned by the hero, Nekki Basara, the lead singer of a rock band who flies out to battles, to SING, believing that the bad guys will be moved by his singing. Yeah, it's silly, but after so many episodes, I kind of believe in his songs myself!

VF-11D Nightmare. Diamond Force. I like these the least. They are supposed to be the elite team, but the design not so nice..
And this, the VF-22!! Appearing near the end in the one of the most explosive episode, Max Jenius (yes, the same Max the ace pilot from the original Macross, but now he's a Captain) flies out in the ultra-cool fighter, with guns blazing and missiles flying everywhere! Woo-hoo~~
Makes me want to go out and buy the model :P

"VF-25F with stand"
The VF-25F Super Messiah kit was designed to build the, well, Super Messiah of course. But after finishing all the instructions, you'll notice that there are a lot of unused parts which are not referenced by the instruction manual. Actually, those parts belong to the VF-25F regular version (without the Super parts), it's just that BANDAI doesn't tell you how to construct them! It's ok, there's always the Internet :D
Fighter
Fighter
Gerwalk
Battroid
Most of the Super parts are removable and can be replaced with the regular parts. And now we get another version. Heheh.. just some extra fun to have with the model kit.
Also, check out the Stand which holds the model! Sold separately for RM40, specially made for these models.

"VF-25S FULL ARMOUR!!!"
If the VF-25 Super Messiah was cool, this is UNBELIEVABLE!
BANDAI announcing the VF-25S Full Armour! Should be available mid of this year at RM7-8xx! In the mean time, have a look at the regular version~~
M-m-must h-have i-it!!

"Estrella ~ Stay"
Caught this song some time back, but not sure who the singer was or even the song title...
turns out it's a local band called Estrella. Pretty international class, I think!

"Macross Frontier: Bandai's 1/72 VF-25F Super Messiah Alto Custom!"
Finally completed assembling and putting on the stickers!
VF-25F Super Messiah!
Super here refers to the Super pack attached to the standard VF-25.
Gerwalk mode
Battroid mode.
It has a blade (yeah, what's a big robot holding a knife for, but hey, this is an anime :P) and shield.
And here's the Macross Frontier DVD:

Transformation is pretty simple, except that some parts fall off so it becomes slightly annoying. This is expected though, since it is a model kit.

Took around 1-2 days to finish assembling. Putting on the stickers took longer as some are really small and you want it perfectly aligned. It was really fun and best of all, no glue/paint required!
And here's the Macross Frontier DVD:
2-disc total of 25 episodes which is pretty short. But in the end, you'll find that you really care for the characters, Alto, Sheryl and Ranka and want to see how things turn out for them. Go watch it! :D

"The Last Man Standing"
Yup, the Last Man Standing is no longer standing. Abang Ming has left Modo, therefore finally bringing a close to the chapter of the DSP team. It wasn't until I had time to reflect upon it that I felt really sad about it.
The DSP team holds a very special place in my heart. It's the team I first joined and subsequently spent 4 very wonderful years. The team went through roughly two eras (from my perspective); the first 2 years from when I joined, with Supplier and Kelvin guiding us, and after they left, when we became the ones who had to do the guiding.
Both eras are special for their own reasons, with the later stages being the one that truly brought us all together as one big family, as seen during Abang Ming's wedding, with the DSP team members from the past and present all coming together in one of the most memorable of events.
When will all of us meet again? Who can say. But for now, good luck dude, and enjoy the well earned rest!

"Farewell(s) Yasz"
Just now was Yasz's official farewell with ATS team @ DOME, Queensbay
But actually there have been many other farewell activities for her before that:
Lunch @ Victoria Station
Hiking @ Pantai Keracut
Combined farewell with Abang Ming @ Pizza Hut, yeah, there see the next post for more details!
Dinner @ E&O Hotel, where we stuffed ourselves silly with food :P
and finally that DOME lunch. Phew. Only one exercise activity, but FOUR makan-makan sessions :-S Most people get 1 farewell. Some get 2. To have 4 is amazing and a testament to a really unique person. Well, either that or we just like to eat. Hahaha.. Ok, take care, Yasz ;)

"Macross Frontier, VF-25 Supermessiah!"
Last week and this week was very busy, but there was still some new arrivals ;)
I already cut off collecting Star Wars of late. Too many repacks and repaints. And it's getting more and more expensive. Such a burden to continue collecting. That's why the last few posts had been other movie characters like Batman, Indy, Mospeada and Macross. Ah, yes, this is gonna be another Macross post! :D
The newest Macross series is called Macross Frontier, released in 2007/8. I bought the original DVD collection from Speedy Video (only RM29.90!) because only original copy got English subtitles :P (they speak Japanese). I'll write about the series some other post, but in short, its AWESOME!!!!!!!!
and then BANDAI released this:
The VF-25F SUPER MESSIAH, which is the hero, Alto's fighter plane.
ah, these are the assemble-yourself model kits! After the dull Robotech model bought, I was a bit hesitant to try again, but then Mr Shopowner say, these are the new ones, no need to glue, no need to paint. Just need this:
a Gundam model kit cutter! Ok, time to get to work :D
