HUGE post for the
Chinese New Year holidays!
After my reunion dinner, the gang decided to go karaoke for countdown! Hurray, time to sing again ;)
@Red Square....
Eric n Adorable sang their hearts out!
Annie's turning on the emotionsss, Su Wei looking stunned.. :P
Paused for posing........
Hey, what's that?
Fireworks! It's already CNY!
Whoa!
WHOA!!!!!
That was pretty cool, all thanks to my *ahem* camera skills ;)
The songs went on and on and I moved from Westlife to
Carpenters and
Beatles! It's interesting how in the end, it's always the oldies that are sang over and over again :D
You can tell that by this time, it was awfully late! 3 AM to be exact! Okok, time to go home... tomoro is another hectic day...........
Yeah, the first day of CNY! I basically decided that I've had enough of "lets buy all-new clothes for CNY". This year, I recycled some stuff from the previous years! After a
vegetarian breakfast/lunch with my family, the gang is off to Sab's house!
Emm.. so formal....
Cut the acting la!
"Hey, we want too..."
And my favourite pic: Everyone :)
The
Sg.Rambai Division (aka my Form 6 classmates!) were coming from Sg.Rambai (obviously)..... These days, we get to meet only once a year, so their arrival is always something special!
@Wing's Cafe
Woo-ho! Fireworks again!
Charlie and his "Angels"........ :P
Har har.... caught in the act!!
"Err, no, no that wasn't me... " Hmm... it looks like me, sounds like me, but it's not me? :P
Blerr!! like kids :P hmm... my smiley can also do that ;)
Su Wei and Adrienne 'volunteers' to be the test subject for my Camera Lesson 101: night shots!
SG can't get his hands off Ular! Distance makes the heart grow fonder...?
Another group photo.... :)
I attended Form 6 in 1997/98 and that means its been
10 YEARS we've known each other! It's really unique to me coz even though universities and eventually work separated us, every year, we make the effort to meet up during CNY. Form 6 was a turbulent time, but the friendship we forged was something that - dare I say it?- lasts forever :)
Oh and what's CNY without at *least* one round of
lou sang?:P
Haha... tat was fun!
The three of us, my bro n sis and myself, decided to treat mom & co a
8-course dinnerMixed stuff... pretty good
"Shark's fin"
Hoi sum....
Tin kai
Ginger chicken
Steamed fish
and a family photo :)
This year is exceptional in that for the first time since my dad passed away, we're communicating again with my grandma (dad's side). Relations were pretty rocky for a few years but what nearly brought tears to my eyes was the expression on my grandma when I knocked on her door and called "ah ma!". She couldn't believe that we visited her and wouldn't stop telling my aunt :) This really meant more than anything to me and I wish we had done this earlier, forgetting about all previous misunderstandings. *sob*.................
Oh, and my gf's family asked me to join another round of lou sang!
They were a bit camera-shy so no pics other than this! :P And guess what - I was expecting the usual pressure question, yep,
when are you getting married?WHEN ARE YOU GETTING MARRIED?WHEN ARE YOU GETTING MARRIED???!!!but instead i get
"Eh, Leopard, you look so thin la.... work pressure ar?"Haha.... well, that's definitely an easier question :P I dunno man, I didn't particularly go on diet or anything but the jeans and pants definitely have gone loose on me.... :S
Anjing and Eric decided to have a rematch in
Sunshine Bar that night... heheh.... After the last round (of drinks la!) during Jason's wedding, where Anjing vomitted, this time they had 2 bottles of Chivas, Flaming Lamborghinis... and who knows what else!
Eric must be really pissed when he saw Anjing still steady while he was spinning! Anjing attributed it to "Intensive Training" since the defeat.. *raised eyebrows* Will there be another rematch?? Heh, thankfully I abstained from
excessive alcohol this year... Amitabha :P
Oh, what's this?? Another round of karaoke!
@ Go Go KTV
The old
Melaka Jetty has been converted into this KTV centre. Too bad I didn't get to capture it from the outside as I was already close to 2 hours late! :P
SG's concert?
Not really! TS grabs hold of the mic... "I wish to dedicate this song to my wife..."
"The next song is for my wife...."
"I'm not letting go, baby.. The next song is still for my wife..." Hahha.. jz joking...
After that, one of the most 'unforgetable' incident happened! We went for
dim sum at 3AM, ok fine... everyone was hungry from all that singing.... whacked so many dim sum until we had to stack the plates up somewhere.
Chat, chat chat, we didn't realize that the cleaner took away the plates! You know how the shop needs to calculate how many plates we took to give us the bill... Man, all of us hushed-hushed and make innocent faces while the tauke just counted the remaining plates on the table.........
Well, serves me right for not voicing out - I couldn't sleep the whole night feeling so
guilty!
By this time, it's almost the end of the holidays... :'( Adorable got bored staring at four walls and asked us to rescue her from the cage.. haha, so we hang out in Starbucks...
But no more hanging out on Sunday night as I was really feeling the strain from sleeping at 4AM every night! The next day's drive back home was terrible. No, not because of the jam (Monday was ok. If Sunday, then May the Force be with you!) but the post-holiday blues were starting to creep in... haha...
Ok, time to sign off; I've been chattier than usual.... must be
nostalgia also starting to creep in!
