"Stuff for Christmas!"

And it start with the last Transformers Leader class figure:

MEGATRON!!

and he transforms into...

Cybertronian Jet! (Took me a whole 30 minutes to get it right the very first time... :S)

Optimus vs Megatron!

Megatron completes the Leader class set, but for RM189.90, I sort of expected it to be more. The colour just doesn't match what we saw in the movie. Some metallic paint would do it just nicely!

Anyway, next is Star Wars...

Besides the Cantina scene, Jabba's palace in Return of the Jedi is another great source for weird and funky aliens :D This set comes at RM79.90 each, which is a great way to collect these figures. Now what I need is Jabba himself...

And Mr.Shop Owner convinced me to buy these two sets below:

DSC03347
Republic Elite Forces: Mandalorian & Clone Troopers and Mandalorians & Omega Squad sets @ RM119.90 each. Pretty nice concept figures. Painting troopers in black is another way to enhance its coolness. And we're such suckers for troopers!

There is another set coming soon... Star Wars VEHICLES!! Due to very high demand, I had to order an entire case, but it should be worth it!

"Back..."

Yup, came back from Melaka on Tuesday. A few dreamy days later, found the time to update blog... This post is a collection of pics that I wanted to put up before I left on holiday... some of the pics are from Pet, which she tried to extort a RM19.90 Haagen Daaz ice cream for it! :S

ZH's farewell(s). Should be the only person to have gotten TWO farewells from us! The first is at Double Dragon Inn Restaurant. Supposedly famous for not putting Monosodium Glutamate (MSG, aka Ajinomoto) in their dishes. It's pretty good but comes at a fairly big price!

Picture 209
Proudly display the sign...
Picture 207
Fish, recommended by the Captain with a tie
Picture 196

The 2nd is at this steamboat shop (I forgot the name) at Lebuh Kimberly. Pretty ok, though not really outstanding...

Picture 218
Notice they use a mini-fan to blow the arang :D
Picture 215

From Pet's other pics, I saw this particular one:

Picture 155
Which really much sums up the feeling in the office now... lonely :( Ok, starting to sound brokeback-ish now! But really, office just doesn't feel the same without these two...

One event did light up the mood... the ever loveable Sharon organized a BBQ party!

IMG_2221
And it sure was no easy task bringing everyone together!

Ok, that's it for this post. Coming up: lotsa pics from Melaka...and lots of Star Wars (it *is* the end of the month!) and one big Transformers figure!

"Kellie's Castle"

On the way back from Pangkor, decided to use the more conventional path - highway! Along the road from Batu Gajah to the PLUS highway, there is one tourist attraction called Kellie's Castle. I pass by a few times during my old USM Tronoh days, but never went in... Now, lets see what it's all about!

Kellie's Castle front...

This is an interesting tree. Notice on the trunk is an image of...
DSC02945
... a bear! Cool huh...
DSC02946
Green green grass...
DSC02949
The castle is mostly uncompleted. The owner was said to have run into problems and passed away before it was finished. It was mostly forgotten until recently.
DSC02969
Walking the mysterious corridors....
DSC02962
One of the many secret tunnels/exits that link one part of the castle to another. They made these so that when the castle is under attack, there is a quick escape route. But it was too spooky for me, so I dare not try walking it..hahaha :P
DSC02979
Outside... damn hot day...
DSC02981
Ah, my favourite: the speech podium!
DSC02987
The background building is the first home of Kellie, only left ruins after WWII bombings...
DSC02990
The view from the tower! Notice the round speech podium. It also serves as an observation platform for Kellie to admire the beautiful view from his castle...
DSC03000
The castle is influenced by Islamic architecture.

Recommended? Hey, if you're around town, why not? :D

It's not free but quite cheap @ RM4 per person. The beautiful garden is already worth it ;)

"Pulau Pangkor (IV)"

Tuesday morning, woke up early for one last stroll along the beach.

DSC02902
DSC02906
Fleet of boats. Actually I wanted to take the boat ride that brings u to a few of the nice little islands nearby. Can go see corals, snorkelling, etc. Alas, time did not permit.......

For breakfast/lunch, we took a taxi to the groom's mother's place in Pangkor town. Pangkor is really small, with only ONE road that rounds the island.

DSC02908
The house...
DSC02907
... which is just beside a FEW kopitiams. This is where we had breakfast/lunch. Convenient, eh. Anyway the food is pretty good and the best part is you can order from any stall (even from other coffeshops!) and they will still serve you!
DSC02910
This is the front of the house, where you can basically sit and call the coffeeshop boy to bring some drinks over!
DSC02913
Caught this little cute girl loitering near me. She obediently (willingly?) posed for a pic :P
DSC02923
The main industry in Pangkor: fishing. And the town is a fishing village.

And the jetty back to Lumut was 50m from the house :-S (Can it be more convenient than this??)
DSC02931
The trail back home................ leaving with a heavy heart. Feeling I will miss the early morning strolls along the beach... the awesome sunset... and just living a simple life in a place where time almost stands still...

End? Not really.. still got one more adventure to be had!

"Pulau Pangkor (III)"

Ah, the Wedding Day!

DSC02564
Take some family photos while waiting for the groom to arrive..
DSC02584
Here he comes!
DSC02622
And brings her away on his Mercedes! There were a few 'tests' before he managed to do that though: "Give us ang pow before we let u see her", "Drink this weird drink first", "Sing a few songs", "Say I love u in 9 diff languages"... u know, that kinda crap ... :P

DSC02691
Tea-serving ceremony. There's close to 100 of these pics, with different ppl being served.

By 2pm, I was terribly hungry and bored. That's when we rented a taxi and went for the island tour ;)

But it was going to be very tight coz the wedding dinner actually starts at 5.30pm. Some guy was coming to pick us at 5pm, so we'd have to time the trip really well. That explains the express tour we had: 1.5 hours including makan!

Thankfully we made it. But the hall was already FULL. OMG, have u ever heard of a wedding dinner at 5.30pm?! Anyway, it wasn't long before food was served...
DSC02798
I find this unique, its not the usual starter we get. The mini buns are superb.

To entertain us during the meal...
DSC02802
Aunties singing karaoke and dancing cha-cha!! :D Wild aunties!
DSC02835
Stars of the day.

My role was to take photos and videos of the champagne popping, singing, blablabla............................... zzzz

The dinner was over by 7.30pm :D Crazy, eh.... In fact, the guests never even wait for the bride and groom to stand at the exit... they jz blah! And not even the usual 'Yam Seng'... Oh well, every place has its own unique culture :P
DSC02880
Finally, a pic of me......
DSC02860
Guy trying to show-off his cup trick which I admit, was impressive.
DSC02861
And something we don't see happening these days: don't let anything go to waste! Tah-pao the left-over food, fill the leftover drinks into bottles....

By 8.30pm, already back in our hotel. What a tiring day!
DSC02898

Next: The last day in Pangkor.......
