"Pulau Pangkor (II)"

Day 2: the wedding day! Very busy day, even for 'extras' like me because I wanted to attend the wedding AND go the touristy places in Pangkor...

Woke up early at 7am and went for a stroll down the Pasir Bogak beach.



At about 10am was the first wedding event for the day, the bridegroom picking up his bride, who's at the apartment we are renting. This lasted till about 2pm. But lets leave the wedding stuff aside first and see what are the places to go in Pangkor...

There are a few ways to travel around here; bike and taxi seems to be the most popular and easiest. A taxi tour of the place (round the island) costs RM50 for 7 of us for 2 hours.

First stop is the Dutch Fort. Like the Melaka A Farmosa-type of place.


Not much remains of the place...

The pink coloured van at the back is an example of the taxis in Pangkor; can't miss them!


Nice circular rest area.

Nearby is this Historical Rock/Batu Bersurat. See the image of the Tiger on the rock? Apparently a Dutch boy went missing and was believed to be killed by this tiger. Some say the tiger image could also signify the local Malay villagers...


One place the uncle recommended was this Kuan Yin temple.

The place has a nice view of the sea and a well-maintained garden.

The last stop (we were in a hurry, the wedding dinner starts at 5pm!) is the Foo Lin Kong temple. There's a miniature Great Wall of China by the side of the temple...

Hurriedly rush back to the hotel... Time was already 4.15pm!

"Star Wars Basic Figures..."

Last nite, during ZH's farewell (II), received an SMS...

"Hi Wong, your Star Wars Basic Figures have arrived. Pls come and collect."

Ooo... That's nice! Maybe I'll go tomoro...

But after the dinner, felt like driving around town and listening to radio... then suddenly had an urge to "hey, why wait till tomoro, the shop's jz nearby (it wasn't). Ok, lets go and collect it!"

"Pulau Pangkor (I)"

Back from Pangkor on Tue, Dec team building on Wed and ZH's farewell dinner just now... Finally, time to sort out some of the pics!

Drove to Lumut on Sunday noon, Monday nite have to attend my gf's sis' wedding dinner.

Lumut jetty... Nice observation tower, too bad it's another abandoned gov project! :P

Jetty fare is RM5 one way... departs every 15 minutes

Mesra Feri... go for this one coz it has the upper deck where u can 'chui-chui fong' ;)

Arrived in Pangkor Island at 5pm, LayShian and her husband there to pick us up, quickly leave the luggage and make a dash for....

The beach! It's 6pm... From the travel blogs, Pangkor has some wonderful sunsets.. and you *know* I ain't gonna miss them ;) Sun's still shining bright, but to catch sunsets, have to be early. The 'critical' moment lasts only a few minutes!

We're staying in Coral Bay Resort and it's just beside the beach called Pasir Bogak...

Ok, it's almost there! Shh... no more words...








Wow....it's more breathtaking than what I saw on the websites..... The sea and the sky turns into gold.... :)

This makes the terribly long journey worth it.... :)

... is a dinner at a restaurant called Four Seasons in Sunway Tunas, Penang. LayKoon introduced this place to us last time and I've been here several times since...


Check out the superb sunset rays on the way there. Cool, huh...

Lime and Plum drink; make sure you order this! It's very delicious and you can eat the plum inside ;)

Just came back from a simple dinner. Will be off to Melaka in a short while, by BUS! Man, how long since the last time I took bus. No choice la, still few days more before payday... :-S

"Cow & ZH's farewell"

Sakae Sushi, Queensbay Mall: Karam and ZH's farewell among DSP team, past and present. Attendees: Cow, ZH (obviously), CY, LK, Pet, Fren2 & wife, Sazali, WM, Keith, dunno-who and Leopard. This is probably the first time in almost a year that everyone manage to sit down together!
