"Someone's wedding..."

Remember last weekend when it was raining non-stop? Most likely we'd stay home, but I got invited to a little event: Someone's wedding! Someone? Who? Err... good question... she's my gf's cousin's daughter... my gf's cousin is 30 years older than her... and she barely know them.... man, that makes me the most irrelevant person there! What the heck, jz go there n eat... And maybe take some pics along the way ;)

No one really bothered with me there. It was kinda miserable. Tried to fit in the crowd, but it was so hopeless I gave up after awhile. Just kept quiet and whack the Skol beer :P

Well, lets see what pics we have here:

Nice special effect...

The usual stuff... If you've been to a Chinese wedding, you've been them all...
DSC00170
The bride and groom, with their family. I could almost swear I've seen that gal before... and the groom looks so young. I almost hesitated to shake his hands coz I kinda doubt whether he was the groom! Hahahaa :P

Ok, by now I was terribly bored. No one really layan me at all...

Balik la....

OMG, that was more fun than the entire dinner.............. :-S

"... and now for Star Wars!"

Now for some new Star Wars arrivals!

One nice figure is the new Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker! He comes with a soft outer tunic which can be removed .... and we can finally recreate the most memorable scene in the entire Star Wars saga (for me la):

the Final Jedi Duel on the 2nd Death Star!

Darth Vader brings Luke to meet the Emperor on board the 2nd Death Star.

"Good, now take your father's place by my side!"
"...No. You failed Your Highness. I am a Jedi, like my father before me."
DSC00127
"So be it... Jedi!"

"Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side! Now you will pay for your lack of vision!" Bzzt...

The redemption of Anakin Skywalker!

"Father, I won't leave you here, I've got to save you!"
"You already have, Luke. You already have. Tell your sister, you were right about me..."

Anakin becomes One with the Force...

Another cool figure is Elis Helrot. Elis who?? Hehe, I dunno also. Only those hardcore fans who know every alien's name would appreciate this figure. But he come with a cool Cantina table which can be combined with the previous parts to recreate another very fun scene...

Hasbro

Hasbro Boss: "Oh, so the boy did not buy Starscream G1..."
Hasbro Marketing : "No, sir. He said he will only buy movie-accurate figures. What should we do now?"
Hasbro Boss: "Release another Starcream. This time give it a different color."
Hasbro Marketing : "B-but he's already rejected it once. Is it wise?"
Hasbro Boss: "This time, give it a new name.... call it... THUNDERCRACKER"
Hasbro Marketing : "Very good sir."
Hasbro Boss: "And as usual, make it limited quantity."

"Home"

MalaccaStateFlag

The best thing about going back to Melaka is that... u'll never go hungry :D In fact at times it seems like we're going for a food marathon! Breakfast, lunch, dinner... each one of them is a joy :)

Wan Tan Mee, Pan Mee (they call it 'Mien Fen Kao'), Yong Tau Fu, Chicken Rice Balls, Yee Kiaw Mee, Nyonya food, 'Chu-Char' (yeah, all at family-friend's places!), Cendol..... phew, it's like a rush to sample all the food before we go leave! :P

My house in Melaka is in a place called Taman Seaview and it literally means that: SEA VIEW! And another of my all-time favourite activity is... cycling in the evenings with my trusty bike.... there are a few places which have absolutely stunning views.

Here's one:

... this is at Portugese Settlement (which conveniently, is just behind my home). One a fine day, u can just sit down there and enjoy the soft sea breeze with the sound of waves splashing against the shore... truly a Zen moment :)

(On a side note, I didn't bring my camera along, so this is taken using my sucky Moto camera phone :P Haha)

Another thing I look forward to is meeting with the gang. But as I let out in the previous post.... We really had a "GREEAAATTT" time.... how can u not enjoy it when one by one all FFK.... Damn, no wonder we're called the Kurap Gang..... Really kurap!!

When things work out, it's really a heckuva time... but when things don't... OMG, its so damn frustrating.... But after thinking about it more, well, now things juz aren't as simple as during our study times, when all we think about was where to hang out... Hahaha...

Oh well....................

"Worth the pain!"

This month's team-building was a 3-in-1 combo!

1) Ice-cream at Baskin Robbins :)

logo_baskinrobbins

Yummy... I took a double scoop... regular size. Came up to about RM12.80!! :P But tauke belanja ... cannot paiseh-2 rite? ;)

2) Movie: Ratatouille!

Heard a lot about this cartoon. Turns out, it's really worth all the good reviews :) Very nice animation and easy going story. Anyone know who voiced Mr Ego? He sounds awfully familiar................

3) Inline skating!! :-O

Hoho.. it finally came down to this. Inline roller skating. OMG, who in their right minds would want to stand on these??

mskts_aero09
At that time, can see many school kids, zipping in the arena like little flies... and then appeared this group of 'old men', some wearing Motorola uniform... (trust me, I'm not that old, but standing beside 15 year-olds can do that to you!). Some of us know how to skate. Some are pretty good (complete with member cards). The rest are 1st timers! Holee crap.

Being me, I was like... act cool, jaga imej, make sure dun fall... After 1/2 hour, I was absolutely going nowhere :-S... Some of the guys gave us pointers... How to move ur legs, balance on 1 leg, move forward, dun lift ur leg so high, coordinate ur left leg...

Still going nowhere. I was balancing myself pretty well (Jedi training ;-) ). But I was afraid. Afraid to fall. It's like learning how to ride a freakin bicycle all over again! But anyone who (successfully) rode on a bicycle knows 1 painful fact. You *WILL* fall.

Ok, tats it. Mandi biarlah basah! Let go... loosen up that stiff body... dun try too hard....

jz .....

enjoy it..........................................

I lost count how many times I fell down. My butt hurt, I cut my legs, my wrists injured.. but finally I made it! I was skating!!

ist2_2411748_in_line_skating_hipster_mchipster143
OMG, that feeling.... zipping forward... the rush of the air (?).... its so damn GREAT! Jatuh pun jatuh la... just pick urself up and go again! Wheeeeeeeeeeee!

Definitely worth the pain! So, Happy Skating guys!

"Starscream G1?"

Had a bad feeling when I saw a few Transformers figures lying on an empty shelf in Gurney TRU. Went closer to see... yeah... I was too late. A new shipment came and went. Transformers movie figures really don't stay on the shelves for too long! 1-2 days max, what more the major characters. One of the stuff that was left was ...

Starscream (Voyager class), G1 Redeco!
scream-g1-2
scream-g1

which is actually a repaint of the Movie Starscream.

81121a089bb_Main400
81121a089bb_A400

Retailing at RM109.90, I was faced with a dilema:

a) Buy it now?
Pros: Finally get a Starscream
Cons: Not movie-accurate. Another dilema if I see a movie-accurate one later.

or

b) Wait for the movie-accurate one?

Pros: Obviously, get a movie-accurate Starscream
Cons: Really have to be *very* patient....

In the end...

Man, if I'm gonna pay RM109.90, it better be movie-accurate!!
